Sure, there are the frustrations of tantrums, and hitting, and screaming and outright, blantant disregard for what Mommy and Daddy are saying ... but they are far outweighed by the hugs and kisses, and hysterical giggles, and cuddles and pats on the back being doled out by our amazing Braylie-girl these days. I can't believe how fast our baby is growing up. She has a mind of her own and she knows exactly what she wants to do with it. Sometimes, I swear, I can see the wheels spinning and just wonder what new thing she's learning at that exact moment.
One new thing she learned recently was how to turn her old crib bumper that she found stuffed under her crib into a super-cool fort for her and all of her blankets, pillows, stuffed animals - and, of course, BlankieBear.
Braylie also discovered how much more fun it is eating lunch under her highchair, rather than in it.
And, let us not forget, the discovery of ... raspberries. Mommy learned a valuable lesson, too ... raspberries are not to be eaten in rooms with carpeted floors.
But my most favorite part of 17 months - Toddler Speak. Sometimes it takes us a couple of minutes to distinguish "more" from "Movers", or "grapes" from "please", or "love you" from "hold you" - and if we take too long to figure it out (more than 1.5 seconds) frustrations dissolve into tears - but we're doing our best, Braylie girl. There's a steep learning curve to this Toddler Speak. Mommy and Daddy will catch up to you soon, smartie-pants, we promise.
In the meantime, keep on chattin'.
Talk to you soon!
